Went from IMCA hoosiers to USRA American Racers and I gotta say, hoosiers are a scam lol. Them things get hot and turn to concrete. Them American Racers are unbelievable.. sad IMCA and Wissota force those shitty tires upon drivers.. they get hot and are immediately steer tires only gets expensive having to get two new tires every night...

In emergency we've hooked the two vents together with a hose and put a small hole at the peak of the arch. Are those alcohol parts? We use alcohol parts with gas, it's tougher n the gaskets usually can be reusable

Crushed float is an old trick to have more fuel volume in the bowl but I haven't seen that in a long time and it shouldn't be needed with todays modern pumps and huge hoses .
